April 30 2024 By dvirtue Christian Community: The Church as Extended Household

Romans 15:1-2 We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves. 2 Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.

Romans 15:5-6 May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, 6 that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

April 27 2024 By dvirtue RICO: 'I WAS NAÏVE ABOUT CURRENT CULTURE IN THE COFE'

en: Why have you now become a Presbyterian?
RT: I retain my Permission to Preach, so I can still speak in Cof E churches. But I think it vital that I demonstrated clear separation from a church that no longer affirms Biblical orthodoxy, especially with regard to preaching repentance.

In an interview this week with Rev Dominic Steele, host of 'The Pastor's Heart', Archbishop Justin Badi Arama, suggested that some, and maybe the majority, of GSFA Primates would absent themselves from the meeting -- following the example of the Primates of Rwanda, Uganda and Nigeria, who are known to have boycotted the last meeting.

This will likely lead to an acceleration of evangelical capitulation on the scripture's (and Jesus') male-female foundation for sexual ethics. It will also likely signal Fuller Seminary's capitulation on sexual ethics.

Fifty-four years but only two other total eclipses (1979 and 2017) have elapsed since that dawning of the age of Aquarius yet we have endured Y2K, 12 presidents, and the burst of the Internet. April 04 2024 By dvirtue PAGANISM COLONISES THE CHURCH

However, these are only the surface causes; there has to be a reason why the Church has left the door open so that these ideologies are able to impact on it. The reason why the Church has succumbed to the influence of these philosophies is that it has been colonised by an entirely different and pagan religion, Moral Therapeutic Deism.

April 04 2024 By dvirtue Confessional Confidence in a World Gone Mad

Historic statements of faith―such as the Heidelberg Catechism, the Apostles' Creed, and the Westminster Confession of Faith―have helped the Christian church articulate and adhere to God's truth for centuries. However, many modern evangelicals reject these historic documents and the practices of catechesis, proclaiming their commitment to "no creed but the Bible." And yet, in today's rapidly changing culture, ancient liturgical tradition is not only biblical―it's essential.

March 25 2024 By dvirtue The CofE is going in the wrong direction on racial diversity. There is a better way

Because of all this, I found Guy Hewitt's article on racial justice profoundly depressing. I believe his entire approach is importing 'culture wars' language from the American context, which is deeply shaped by Critical Race Theory (CRT), and this will bring division and disagreement to the Church of England and fail to address the issue.
