May 17 2007 By virtueonline Mrs. Schori And The Politics of Illusion

According to Mrs. Schori the folks meeting in Boxburg (South Africa) didn't spend any time talking at all about conflict. "They talked about mission. The Anglican Communion is alive and well -- very well - in those partnerships between dioceses and congregations."

The conference drew more than 400 Anglicans from 33 of the 38 Anglican provinces. They were to review the Communion's response to the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and build partnerships.

May 17 2007 By virtueonline Fort Worth, Quincy Dioceses break away is hype. Not true, says Bishop Ackerman

"What I can say I know is that all of us in the Network who have requested APO have to understand what we have all along been asking for (APO) is because the HOB was less than conciliatory. The humor for me is that might lead to that some day. But to even to be talking about this now amazes me."

May 15 2007 By virtueonline Episcopal Church Drops $51,000 for Op-Ed Page ad in New York Times

The ad was a result of collaboration between Mr. Bob Williams, Director of the Office of Communications for The Episcopal Church, and the Rev. Jan Nunley, Deputy for Communication for the Episcopal Church.

May 11 2007 By virtueonline The Hypocrisy and Slurs of Liberal Episcopal Bishops

This is an untrue and unfair attack upon orthodox rectors.

There has never been a known case of an orthodox rector, either Evangelical or Anglo-Catholic, who stood at the church door on any given Sunday morning and asked people, as they came through the doors, if they are gay or straight, what their sexual proclivities are, and then refuse entrance when told they were homosexual.

"I loved every minute of it. The drama of the actual installation complete with a powder-wigged Nigerian judge administering instructions for ministry to American Bishop Martyn Minns with Nigerian Primate Peter Akinola looking on, overseeing the whole occasion, was both authoritative and solemn. I was deeply moved," he told VOL.

It is hard to see how he could ignore this latest outrage. He now wants to become an Episcopal priest.

May 03 2007 By virtueonline COLORADO: Orthodox Priest and Bishop in High Stakes Ecclesiastical Poker Game

Each is throwing out enough chips on the table in the hope that the other will fold so they can take the pot.

The bishop tossed out the first card by demanding to see the church's financial records and declaring the parish off limits to the evangelical priest.

May 03 2007 By virtueonline An Interview With the Rt. Rev. Martyn Minns

His supporters view Minns as a faithful, hold-the-line orthodox priest who will not waver on sexuality issues. He is a charismatic figure, more in sync with African Anglican Christians that hold 'the faith once delivered to the saints' than with post-modern liberal Episcopalians for whom he has little use and who have abandoned historic Christianity.
