The Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit says the Church won't okay same-sex or polygamous marriage among its followers.

Ole Spait made the remarks at a function in Bungome on Tuesday, April 10, when he presided over the relocation of Bungome diocesan headquarters from Webuyne to Bungoma Town.

"The Church is very clear, especially from Biblical teachings that one man and one women find and found a family. We want to make it very clear that family is one wife and one husband joined together to form a couple. The Church advocates for marriage between females and males, not vica versa. We do not encourage any discussion about homosexuality and lesbianism. That is not what the Bible teaches," said Ole Sapit.

VOL FOOTNOTE: Thirty years ago, under pressure from bishops in Kenya and Uganda, the Lambeth Conference of the Anglican Communion resolved to admit polygamists under certain circumstances.
