WASHINGTON, D.C.: St. Paul's K Street to Install Rector with Alleged Sexual Past with Gay Model
Interim Bishop Jelinek will not stop traditional Anglo-Catholic Parish from appointing Rev. Richard David Wall

The Washington flagship Anglo-Catholic parish, St. Paul's K Street will install the Rev. Richard David Wall to be its new rector despite allegations that Fr. Wall has allegedly had a past being in an active homosexual relationship with James Doolan a gay pin-up porn star that included shocking pictures of him and his boyfriend in sexual positions posted on the internet.
Wall, an ordained priest in the Church of England, is currently rector of Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church in State College PA.
VOL received a 2003 newspaper report revealing that Wall, who was 25 at the time, and was a governor at an infant school in England where he lived with porn pin-up James Doolan for eight months. Mr. Doolan has starred in explicit magazines for eight years, including one called Euro Boys, and twice made the cover of Boys Magazine. He has also been filmed for two gay porn videos and a public health film. The pair were regulars at G.A.Y., the well-known club night at London's Astoria but would avoid going out together closer to home in Essex. James also did not attend church to protect their relationship.
Wall did not return calls or an e-mail sent to him regarding the alleged charges, and Bishop James Jelinek who is interim priest at the Anglo-Catholic parish did not respond to an email sent to him about the allegations. Contacted by phone Jelinek confirmed he got the e-mail but said "I am not responding" and hung up.
In the article which you can read (below) Wall admits he is gay, but insists he and James never had sex and that the pictures were faked with pictures of his head superimposed on an image of a naked man engaged in an obscene act.
Centrefold model James (Doolan), however, claims they engaged in a full homosexual relationship.
The photographs were posted on the website Gaydar but removed at the time Fr. Wall was ordained.
One parishioner said: "The congregation will be in uproar. Homosexuality is an extremely controversial subject." Doolan, who advertises as a gay model, moved in to Fr. Wall's vicarage in Bocking, Essex. He moved out after an argument. The relationship broke down when Doolan suspected there was another man in the priest's life. A friend of the vicar's said: "Richard denied it but there was a massive row and they split up."
The trainee priest was studying at theological college St Stephen's House when he met James, 29, in Oxford gay bar The Coven in September 2000. They were pictured gazing into each other's eyes at Gay Pride festival in London two years later.
Fr. Wall was later posted to the pretty St Mary the Virgin Church after completing the two-year course.
VOL put three questions to Bishop Jelinek:
1. Will you still proceed to install the Rev. Wall as the next rector of St. Paul's, K Street?
2. Will you now call it off?
3. Will the vestry and the calling committee now review his calling in light of his past?
VOL got no answers from the bishop, and Wall did not return an e-mail request for information refuting the newspaper claims.
