Presiding Bishop to conduct post-Lambeth live webcast

August 7 2008 [Episcopal News Service] Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori will conduct a live webcast to talk about the Lambeth Conference on Thursday, August 7 at 2 p.m. Eastern time (1 p.m. Central, noon Mountain, 11 a.m. Pacific).

Originating from the Episcopal Church Center, 815 Second Ave., New York City, the webcast will be accessible through the homepage of the Episcopal Church's website at www.episcopalchurch.org.

Questions will be accepted from the live audience and via email at newsline@episcopalchurch.org. Phone-in questions will not be accepted.

The 2008 Lambeth Conference concluded on Sunday, August 3.

The Lambeth Conference is a meeting of the bishops of the Anglican Communion held once every 10 years at the invitation of the Archbishop of Canterbury. The 2008 Lambeth Conference drew 670 bishops from 37 of the 38 Anglican provinces; about 135 bishops of the Episcopal Church registered.

For more information about the webcast, contact Neva Rae Fox, program officer for public affairs, at newsline@episcopalchurch.org.

I can hardly contain myself waiting to hear what lies, er spin, the multi-hued heretic will profer in this made for the barf bag news conference.

She will, no doubt, proclaim Lambeth a huge vindication of revisionism, citing no negative votes. She will proclaim that Vicky really put the homophobic orthodox knuckle draggers in there place in the Market Place. She will commend Rowan for remembering to show up and for endorsing the practitioners of anal intercourse.

The conference will contain a glowing endorsement of the replacement gospel (the UN's MDGs) and maybe even a quick prayer to "Mother God".

I hope her best "manly man" suit gets back from the cleaners in time.

Yup it will be an event to behold.

Wouldn't it be nice if she were to announce that since TEC didn't get everything their way, as they thought they would, she'd take them out of the Communion?

Oh, joy! Oh, happiness! Oh, exquisite delight!

But of course, that'll never happen, will it? Instead, she'll have her spin doctors dig into their bag of tricks and do the usual trash job on us so-called "troublemakers."

Personally, I think I'll skip the live event and rely on David's report later on.

Oh, goody goody gumdrops! Now we'll get the real truth. Brought to you by the good folks at Squidlicious. Remember, ladies and gentlemen, if it's not squidlicious, it's not the genuine article. Always insist on genuine Squidlicious goods, fresh every day at the Religion counter of your local cultic supermarket.

Do any of you reading this remember the 60's or 70's pop song by Tommy Roe called "I'm so dizzy"? I think it'll be time to replay it after PB's show.

I think I'll go get a root canal (without novacaine) during this broadcast. Either that or do my Income Tax Return.

I think you all should listen to the broadcast. When have you ever planned to have a extreme laughing yourself silly time, about something the episcopal church PB has said?

 Spin the Magic Twangger, Froggy
Two articles that I have read put the number at 617 Bishops. How is it that they have total number of bishops number but "about 135 of the bishops of the episcopal church". If you are going to spin bishop numbers why would you have approximate subtotals?

I just finished watching the webcast, and I was not the least bit surprised that not ONCE was the name of Jesus Christ even mentioned!

Most of the questions asked came from the East Coast, and some dealt with LBGT issues....thus signifying to me that this conference was rigged from the very beginning, and was a colossal waste of time, money, and effort.

Cennydd,

You aren't surprised, are you?

Just for fun, I sent in a few e-mail questions. Not surprisingly, none made prime time. The questions pertained to salvation, the Trinity, how one could substitute the MDGs for the Gospel of Christ, stuff like that, totally alien ideas to TEc.

No, daveball, I'm not the least bit surprised!

It's clear that she didn't want to hear from the opposition and make a fool of herself and Bishop Sisk....who seems to be rather meek and mild compared to her.

I wonder if she owns anything besides mannish business suits?

Perhaps that's why Mr. Schori has remained in Nevada. She took all his clothes!
