Interestingly, the Canon points out that the liturgy used at the Convention was fairly non-Trinitarian. Is this because the Trinity is Anti-Semitic? Is this because the Trinity is a stumbling block to unity with Muslims? Is this a new move by the Spirit of the Convention to cancel the orthodox doctrine of the Trinity in favor of monistic gobbledegook? Is the Spirit of the Convention from God (or from Satan?). Seems to me the answer is pretty obvious.

After watching Kendall Harmon interview I just can as you say in America "Ooooh my Gad!,they are
not more Christians, they are unitarians/ universalists.I don't think that our Universal Pastor, The Most Rev.P. Akinola will not tolerate these heretics any more. They should start the process of union between this heretic sect (TEC) with the Unitarians/universalists, and the United church of Christ,in The United Unitarian Universalist Church with Her Holiness Matriarch Katherine I as their Universal Pastor, seating in the throne of St Judas the son of the evil. This church has finished as a Christian church. Dear Canon Kendall Hermon and co. leave this now, it stinks. |

Rossi, after General convention is over, its actions will linger for years. During those years, ECUSA will die a lingering death. Take a look at the average age of the Church's membership: 65 years! And I'm 68! How on Earth can ECUSA claim that they will survive? In the meantime, in my diocese of San Joaquin, we are attracting young families....and you should see the number of kids in our Sunday School here at St Alban's! We've outgrown our present buildings, and we're going to start building a new Church campus sometime later this Fall!
The Liberal wing of ECUSA is finished as a Christian church, but we Conservatives sure aren't! The schism can't come soon enough to suit us! Cennydd |

Cennydd,
Good point. The population decline in the ECUSA/TEC of over 30% in the last 30 plus years is bad enough. However, what really emphasizes the point, is the fact that, ECUSA/TEC membership as a percentage of the US population has dropped by approximately 50%. The bad news for liberals is that while there is some growth in the church, it is almost all in conservative parishes and dioceses, which makes the decline in membership in liberal dioceses/parishes even greater. With an average parish membership of less than 100 and an average age of well over 60, it doesn't take Malthus to realize that our apostate brothers are going the way of the Shakers. In the next few years a large number of these parishes are going to implode. |

Well said, dturk. The real work over the next few years will be building up new Anglican congregations throughout North America. That is work that will fully occupy the energy of American Anglicans, and the prayerful support of us foreigners!

dturk,
You are right about the "New Religion" imploding. What will this group look like in 30 years. They will be attracting a specific segment of the population that offers nothing in the way of family values . . . or for that matter they can't offer a family. There is no growth, promise, or hope in their decisions. They are living for earthly treasures and desires today and selling off their Christian birthright. I'm from the country, and the last time I checked you can't get anything from mating two bulls but bull___. Right now Columbus,OH is already full of it. |

I agree. I left ECUSA back in ‘04 b/c there was no traditionalist presence in my diocese. I swam the Tiber and became Catholic. Was it a difficult decision? You bet it was. I was a cradle Episcopalians. But, once it is over, it is over. You find yourself wondering what took you so long.
My advice to anyone out there who is caught up in the crisis and trying to decide what to do is, “Stop stewing and do something about it. Do anything, but do not remain in this church. Do not give them any more of your precious pledge dollars. There are so many other worthwhile religious organizations out there who can use the money. Even charities. You are being used for your pledge dollars. The longer you put it off, the harder it is to leave.” This year my husband came into the Catholic Church with me, so now we are together again. We are both in agreement that it is one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. Initially I worried about my ability to tolerate the music and the informality of the liturgy, but I find I don't miss my "Anglican roots" as much as I thought I would. There are so many other things to make up for it. Jesus and his message of love, forgiveness, and transformation is what is important. The best thing of all about going to Mass is seeing all the young families and their kids. Our parish is crawling with kids! I feel like I am supporting something that is alive and has a future instead of enabling a wacky bunch of affluent late-middle-aged liberals in their sins and self-righteous delusions. |
