Gene Robinson Featured At Tides Foundation Conference - Momentum

V. Gene Robinson was featured this year in the annual Tides Foundation Conference "Momentum" in San Francisco. The conference, started in 2005, brings together a group of 300 dynamic participants comprised of forward-thinking activists, philanthropists and social entrepreneurs.
Robinson address was entitled "Finding the Power Within:On the roles of faith, hope, and love in social justice; and why loving our fellow human beings has nothing to do with liking them. The address was a part of the conference's "power plenary and included john a. powell [sic], Laura Quinn, and Alison Fine.
The Tides Foundation was established in 1976 by anti war activist Drummond Pike. self described mission "is to partner with philanthropists, foundations, activists, and organizations across the country and across the globe to promote economic justice, robust democratic processes, and the opportunity to live in a healthy and sustainable environment where human rights are preserved and protected."
Major donors of Tides Foundation include Teresa Heinz Kerry and George Soros. According to one source the Tides Foundation distributes millions of dollars in grants every year to various liberal political organizations the Apollo Alliance; United for Peace and Justice, a group led by pro-Castro activist Leslie Cagan; the National Lawyers Guild; the Center for Constitutional Rights; and the Council for American-Islamic Relations, three of whose executives have been indicted for terrorist activities.

Are there any possible ties into some of the curious national and international relationships The Episcopal Church appears to support, the personalities they appear to promote, and the activities they appear to engage in? Is there more to all of this religious "warfare" and blatant attack upon scripturally based conservatives in all denominations than the mere takeover of once fine and respected organizations? Are there very serious national and international political ramifications to TEC's acts and failures to act ? Is it time we looked at all of this from more than just the religious ramifications? |

I mostly just provided a parable of the Lord. Argue with His words if you want. But don't assume that I am advising anyone to sit on the sidelines. We are indeed involved in spiritual warfare and I for one am battling as best I can. But I recall Paul's reminder that "our enemies are not flesh and blood." God loves everyone. People are deceived and need the Truth. We fight the lies and misperceptions (such as Marxism and the beliefs of terrorists). We must battle on. |

Perhaps you are unaware that throughout history, parables such as you quoted have been used to subdue, confuse, subjugate, and manipulate decent Christians.
