ACNA'09: Anglican Mainstream sends greetings to Anglican Church in North America

To Bishop Bob Duncan, the Bishops, Clergy and People of the Anglican Church in North America:

We greet you in the name of our risen Lord Jesus Christ from Anglican Mainstream UK.

We are very pleased to be represented at the inauguration of ACNA and your installation as Archbishop. This continues the close association we have had with you in recent years, especially since 2003 when some of those who are now your bishops joined us in founding Anglican Mainstream. Since then, you have all welcomed, visited, supported and encouraged us, for which we thank God.

As you know, as part of the international mission of Anglican Mainstream we have been sharing in some of the challenges of your pilgrimage. We have felt particularly involved when some of our senior leaders, such as Dr J I Packer in Canada and Bishop Henry Scriven in TEC, have shared in the experiences you have gone through. It has been our privilege to stand with you in fellowship and prayer on these occasions as we battle for biblical orthodoxy and the truth of the Gospel in world-wide Anglicanism. We rejoice to see the Lord's hand of blessing on your witness, as He adds daily to your number those who are being saved.

We send to you, your fellow bishops, clergy and people, our very warm greetings. We rejoice with you at reaching this very significant stage in your development and recognize in you the continuing witness of the Anglican Communion in North America. We express our fellowship and communion in the Lord with you. We pray for your ministry and witness and the good Lord's hand of protection and guidance on your counsels this week.

Yours in Christ

Philip Giddings Convenor
Chris Sugden Executive Secretary.
