JAMAICA: A response to ACC-14 in Jamaica from Global South delegates
We have taken part in the whole process of discernment and decision-making at ACC-14.
We wish to share with our own provinces and the wider Communion our observations and initial conclusions from the meeting.
The Covenant
We had come to Jamaica ready to move forward on the Covenant. The deliberations and decisions of the Council make clear that the ACC wants a covenant. Our disappointment was that we could not get it now. The decision to modify the timetable was by a very slender margin of only three votes. And many people took the middle road position in order to give time to improve the Covenant.
Interventions Cross-provincial interventions are a serious matter. The Archbishop of Canterbury has given his assurance that the role of the Pastoral Visitors would take care of the need for a listening process for faithful Anglicans alienated from their churches and in a significant number of cases deposed from their orders in North America. Some of us who had previously had significant doubts about the wisdom of these interventions have become aware from those whose provinces have taken this bold step that these interventions were both necessary and justified, and others that they were understandable, as an answer to a distress call. We therefore urge the Archbishop to dispatch Pastoral Visitors immediately who will incorporate into their work a listening process because of the urgency of the situation.
The Future We believe that whatever has happened in the course of our decisions, from this point forward God has a perfect plan for his Church to remain the one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. Our hope for the future is based on the fact that God has raised Jesus to be Lord and Christ and given Him as the head of the Church and commissioned us to proclaim Him as Lord and Savior to all peoples.

Quote 1: "And many people took the middle road position in order to give time to improve the Covenant.
A chance to delay again and give schori more time to think up a way to get rid of it all together. Quote 2: "Interventions Cross-provincial interventions are a serious matter." No one on the ACC-14 or the anglican communion will consider that TEC has more sin built up do to homosexual sins than any other denomination in the history of man. But yet, they will whine and complain about someone crossing into their territory(even if they have churches outside the U.S. in some other countries and territories. The ACC-14 participants waisted many hours of indaba to get to a stale mate. TEC went and got all that she wanted and left laughing under her breath at them all. Satan laughs the loudest and makes sure that his sister schori gets what he wants done. This raises the question again: WHY DOES ANYONE WANT TO BE A PART OF CANTERBURY???? SAY NO TO WO, HO & 79BCP, its what got all this started. |

It was once fashionable and desirable to be part of the Anglican Communion for the privilege of being able to say "we had tea and crumpets with the Archbishop of Canterbury," and in some ways, this was and still is true of The Episcopal Church.
Since TEC has Lambeth Palace's latest occupant in their back pocket, it's time for us to take stock of the situation and ask ourselves if we want this to continue. Do we continue with the status quo while relying on an Anglican Covenant and trusting in The Episcopal Church to hold true to that covenant, or do we leave to join with others who stand in opposition to Jefferts Schori and all her works and those of her allies? The time for that decision is fast approaching, for on June 25th, at St Vincent's Cathedral in Bedford, Texas, we will formally proclaim the Anglican Church in North America. Ultimately, I believe we will have to make a choice between Canterbury or a new and revitalized Orthodox Anglican Communion by joining with our brothers and sisters of GAFCON and those provinces of the Global South who stand beside us in faith. Are we up to the task? I think we are! Cennydd |

Do not be dismayed by the polite tone of the words. Read between the lines at the intent and the deeper meaning of the message.

I believe most of us are not the least bit interested in visiting bishops, and we do not intend to remain under a presiding bishop who is bent on having everything her way, and to hell with everyone else.
I remind everyone that there never would have been any cross-border "interventions" if The Episcopal Church hadn't gone off half-cocked and ordained women priests and bishops, and most especially, elected and ordained Katharine Jefferts Schori Presiding Bishop....along with all of the other "innovations" they've attempted to foist off on us. So is it any wonder we've left? Cennydd |
