Published since 1962, the CHALLENGE exists to serve the whole Church, and especially the orthodox Episcopal and continuing Anglican communities.

The CHALLENGE's founding editor was Dorothy Allen Faber, who served from 1962 to 1982. She was succeeded by the late Fr. Louis E. Traycik, who was editor from 1982 to 1986. The current editor is (Mrs.) Auburn Faber Traycik.
