AMBRIDGE, PA: Trinity School for Ministry Raises $12 Million

On Tuesday, June 9, Trinity School for Ministry held a dinner to celebrate the history and future of the school and to introduce people to the goals of their recently announced "Reach for the Harvest" fundraising campaign. Among the speakers at the event were Trinity founders the Rev. Dr. John Guest, Senior Pastor at Christ Church at Grove Farm, and the Very Rev. Dr. Peter Moore, Trinity's fourth Dean and President.
During the event, the Very Rev. Dr. Justyn Terry, Trinity's current Dean and President, announced that the school has now raised more than $12 million for the $14 million campaign. The campaign addresses a range of needs for the seminary in four main categories: Formation in Community, Global Mission, Parish Resources, and Media and Publishing.
"The idea of a harvest goes all the way back to our Lord Jesus saying 'lift up your eyes and look on the fields they are ripe for harvest,'" quoted the Rev. Dr. John Guest. "Trinity School for Ministry is not here just to produce a minister...but to have the multiplication factor of going out and reaching that harvest of souls which in turn produces a harvest of more souls."
In his address, the Very Rev. Dr. Peter Moore, honorary chair of the campaign, said, "This campaign is going to extend the borders of Trinity well beyond Ambridge. Online courses, publications, videos, all kinds of media, extension campuses...this campaign is going to help Trinity grow."
A successful conclusion to the "Reach for the Harvest" campaign will allow Trinity School for Ministry to: build a new Media Center for the development of resources for online education and the publication of teaching materials for churches; launch the new Spanish-language Postgraduate Diploma in Anglican Studies; publish Foundations for Christian Ministry, a new parish-based intensive curriculum for forming lay-leaders; maintain and improve the campus in Ambridge, PA; and train future generations of leaders for the Church. Trinity School for Ministry is an evangelical seminary in the Anglican tradition.
